Affordable Care Act Plans

Individual / family health insurance products provide coverage for those who do not receive plans from their employer.  There are a variety of options available depending upon your specific needs and situation.
Also referred to as "Obamacare", these plan options vary greatly by your county of residence.  These plans are comprehensive in coverage and are similar to what you may have received through an employer.  These plans can be more expensive than the alternatives listed below, but you may qualify for subsidy based on your income.
New, lower costs on Marketplace coverage:
Starting April 1, 2021 you may be able to get more savings and lower costs on Marketplace health insurance coverage due to the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. Under the new law:
  • More people than ever before will qualify for help paying for health coverage, even those who weren’t eligible in the past.
  • Most people currently enrolled in a Marketplace plan may qualify for more tax credits.

Short Term Health Insurance

These plans can be significantly less expensive than traditional health insurance, but may not be right for everyone.  These options can be perfect if you are healthy and need coverage for a specific period of time.  Recent law changes have enhanced these products and have made them more attractive as an alternative to the higher priced ACA plans.

Faith Based Sharing Programs

These programs are not insurance, but can provide similar benefits to those seeking catastrophic type coverage.  Typically there is a faith based requirement in order to qualify, and pre-existing conditions are usually excluded.   These plans can be less expensive than the traditional ACA plans, and provide a more permanent solution vs. the Short Term options if you develop a health issue during your coverage period.

The Choices Are Complex with a Variety of Questions:
