Starting July 1, 2026, Medicare is launching the GLP-1 Bridge Program, which gives eligible Medicare members access to certain weight loss medications for a flat $50 copay per monthly fill.

The basics:

  • Medications included: Wegovy (all doses, injection and tablets), Zepbound (KwikPen only), and Foundayo (all doses) — when prescribed for weight loss

  • Cost: $50 per month, regardless of which medication or dose

  • Who qualifies: You must be enrolled in a Medicare Part D drug plan and meet medical criteria (generally a BMI of 35+, or a lower BMI combined with certain health conditions). Your doctor must confirm you qualify.

What you need to do: Nothing right now. There is no sign-up or enrollment. If you're interested, talk to your doctor — they will submit the approval request directly to Medicare beginning July 1. We cannot enroll you in this program, and no action is needed before then.

One important note: If you take a GLP-1 for diabetes, sleep apnea, or another covered condition, this program does not apply to you — your medication continues through your Part D plan as usual.

Full program details, including the complete medical criteria, are available from Medicare here: Medicare GLP-1 Bridge — Information for Beneficiaries
